Chocolate

This post is continuing the KFC blog post series (click here to read the KFC post) and I will compare chocolate.

I will start with Japanese chocolate. Japan has lots of different and interesting chocolates. The most known brand is Meiji. They are like Hershey because they are most famous for the bars but sell more stuff then just that. For example they sell きのこの山 kinokono yama (mushroom mountain). They have a crispy "Pocky" like sticks that is about 1"long and a chocolate cap. I prefer the 竹の子の里tekenokono sato (bamboo sprout farm). This looks like a cone covered in chocolate. I like tekenokono sato better because instead of a crunchy stem there is a more cookie base cone.

Now I will talk about Chicago chocolate. In America the main sources of chocolate is Hershey and Mars. That is basically the only chocolate that anyone eats. In America, most chocolate is in bars and not in other shapes. That is different from Japan. I personally like the other shapes more because you can one or 2 bite them and not get your chocolate to melt on your fingers. My favourite American chocolate is York Peppermint Patties. It is a chocolate circle with mint cream inside.

I like it because I like mint. I think the balance is perfect on these candies. America has more verity but Japan has interesting ones.

Now I will talk about some chocolates that are almost the same. Both countries have M&M's but in Japan it is less popular. But there is this thing called Marble chocolate that is exactly like an M&M. The Kit Kats have different flavours. USA has the basic flavours and Japan went wild. My mom's favourite is green tea. They also have flavours like blueberry cheesecake!

Thank you for reading this blog. If you have any opinions on Japanese, American or any chocolate please write a comment. I might do more like this so keep your eye out.
