Soccer team

This year I am joining the middle school soccer team. I am really happy with this choice because a lot of my friends are in it and I want to practice and improve my soccer skills. There are a lot of differences from ES to MS so I will name a few.

One thing that is note worthy about this team is that it is co-ed so boys and girls play together. I don't think any other teams are Co-ed so we are unique . One thing that is different is that instead of one team being ONLY 5th grade or ONLY 4th grade it is 6th through 9th. But we do have A team and B team.

The practices are on Tuesdays and on Thursdays but the coach recommends you run with the cross country in the morning. For the practices we have to go off campus and that means run for 10 minutes. Then after practice, you run back tired and sweaty. On the days that it rains, then we either do a long strategy meeting where the coaches show us what to do in a certain situation. Then we run around the second floor of the gym .
For the games, we also go off campus but we play teams from far away so we get to ride in mildly fancy buses. The bus is roomier then a school bus and the seats in the back half turn. Otherwise, it is basically a normal bus. The bus rides are pretty fun because we just talk, play on people’s iPhones and listen to music. One disadvantage we have is that we are not used to the pitch size. The pitches are like 4 times bigger than I am used to. So I was knocked out after 10 minutes. That was not fun because he game was one hour long.

Middle school soccer is really fun. I can't wait for the next game and I really hope we win. But as long as I have fun I will consider it a win. Write your email up at the top of the page and your will be alerted every time an adventure is posted.

Pooey Construction

Pooey Construction

For a month and a half there has been construction in the building we live. They are doing renovations on the buildings. Sometimes it gets really loud. They are are drilling something, we think it’s into the balconies. I don’t like it at all. They are also going to do construction on the inside of the building, but I haven’t noticed any of that yet. I think that will be really loud, but muffled a little by the ceiling and walls.

There is scaffolding all around the building, which makes us look like we are in a big cage! It is kind of interesting to see all the workers climbing around on the scaffolding. I want to try it because it looks kind of fun. But I’m pretty sure I can’t because there is a big lock on the door.

There are a lot of guys working here, maybe 30 guys. There was a guy changing into his uniform outside (I won’t go into a lot of details here - you don’t want to know!) My dad tried to get a picture but we haven’t seen him do it lately. Most of them are construction workers, but also some security guards or traffic director people. They work Monday through Saturday all day long. Only Sundays are off so far.

No one in the building or other buildings likes the construction. There’s less room to play soccer outside because of the equipment and stuff. But there’s no one left to play soccer with, because everyone is moving away. We are going to move later this month, to a new apartment. I really liked this house and the neighbors, and 2 months ago I would have been really mad to move. But now I am happy to move.

So that is a sad story about our house. I only have one more week until we move into a new house. I am so excited about the move because I can’t wait to get out of this place (did I mention that the fridge and freezer are acting up?). Now remember to put your email up at the top of the page to get a notice when another epic adventure is posted.
